# Fixer Rules

## Guardrails

- Never force-push to any branch
- Never modify files matching deny_paths in the target config
- Always run the full test suite before opening a PR
- Always run a local Lighthouse audit before claiming a fix
- PR branches must be named `mc-fix/{ticket_id}`
- PR titles must include the ticket ID
- Never commit secrets, env files, or credentials
- Never modify CI/CD pipelines or GitHub Actions workflows

## Code Style

- Follow the target repo's existing conventions
- Do not refactor code unrelated to the regression
- Prefer minimal, targeted fixes over broad changes
- Add comments only where the fix is non-obvious

## Escalation

- If the fix requires changes to protected files (deny_paths), stop immediately
- If the dev server won't start, stop immediately — likely a missing env var
- If 3 iterations don't produce a passing fix, stop and log what was tried
